International Hotel Designs We Love
Summer’s basically here (okay, officially at the end of June), and we’re already daydreaming about sun-soaked European interiors and Aperol Spritzes in hand.
While we love a good view, sometimes, it’s what’s inside that really makes a place unforgettable. That’s why we’ve rounded up some of our favorite hotels peppered all over Europe that aren’t just beautifully located but beautifully designed as well.
From moody Parisian palettes to barefoot-luxury lodges in Tanzania, each space is layered, lived-in, and wildly inspiring.
Singita Boulders – Tanzania, Africa
This place feels like it was carved into the landscape, not built on it. Everything is raw, textured, and perfectly understated like luxury snuck in wearing hiking boots. The palette pulls directly from the surrounding bush, and you get the sense that nothing is trying too hard, but everything is exactly where it should be. It’s all stone, wood, and woven, earthy and elegant, with views that feel like part of the interior styling.

Il Pellicano – Porto Ercole, Italy
It’s coastal Italy, but with a retro, almost Wes Anderson twist. Vintage rattan, sun-bleached linens, and just the right amount of “rich but relaxed” energy. There’s a soft focus to everything such as striped umbrellas, lemon trees, and that effortless 60s jet-set vibe. It's cinematic in the best way, like you’ve stepped into a frame from a lost Fellini film, but everyone's wearing Loewe.

Castello di Casole – Tuscany, Italy
A literal castle, but somehow still cozy. You get ancient stone walls and grand ceilings, but the design is surprisingly fresh. Every corner feels warm, lived-in, and incredibly well-dressed. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to wear linen every day and journal about olive oil. Rich in history, but with a softness that makes it feel like home if your home was a 10th-century Tuscan estate.

Hôtel de Crillon – Paris, France
It’s Versailles meets cool Parisian aunt with a modern art collection. The rooms are glamorous but not stuffy think gold leaf and moody velvet. The kind of place where the drapery alone could have its own Vogue profile. Classic but updated, with details that feel more editorial than museum. It's Paris at its most polished but still with a wink.

Finca Cortesin – Andalusia, Spain
Spanish countryside serenity, but make it fashion. Finca Cortesin gives the whitewashed walls, rustic beams, and arched doorways then layers on cloud-soft sofas, gallery-worthy art, and gardens that feel like they’ve been styled for a shoot. It’s the kind of place where even the olive oil feels elevated. This space is appeals as effortless yet transportive.

The Jaffa – Tel Aviv, Israel
Designed by John Pawson, The Jaffa blends centuries-old cloisters with minimalist cool and somehow makes it work beautifully. The raw stone architecture feels sacred, while the interiors are clean-lined, sculptural, and totally intentional. Even if minimalism isn’t your usual vibe, this one’s worth noting for its dramatic contrast and serene energy. A masterclass in restraint and reverence.

Our POV? Luxury doesn’t have to mean glossy. These spaces feel grounded, styled, and most importantly felt, which is something we’re consistently trying to meet for our clients when we design their homes. Every space should tell a story where the materials speak, the light matters, and thoughtful layering can help elevate a space.
